Levi’s® Haus of Strauss Africa
Haus of Strauss is the pinnacle expression of the Levi’s® brand and exists to create energy within the music, art, and entertainment industries. Haus Africa is a residency for creative expression through style.
The space serves as a physical embodiment of the Levi’s® brand on the continent, a place to build community engagement and nurture and celebrate African creativity. This is achieved by hosting educational workshops and enriching network-based gatherings. We invite creators and innovators into Haus to work with our team to customize garments. This results in unique pieces that have a personal connection to the creator and carries a story that will accompany that garment throughout its life.
It is important to stay engaged with our community because in uncertain times comfort can be found in things that are trustworthy and relatable. We launched our dedicated Instagram account @levishausafrica which tells the story of Haus Africa from the moment we opened our doors in October 2019.
We will use this platform to encourage our community to have fun with their own style and show them how they can engage with customization and styling from home. We want to recognize the people who innovate and engage with the Levi’s® brand and how they express themselves as individuals. It’s critical to have a narrative that stays consistent beyond the pandemic.
Haus Africa is a place that empowers African creators and innovators by offering resources that can elevate their work and amplify their voices in their communities. We are able to up-skill, educate, and create on a scale that has not been experienced before, and will use these elements to highlight the creators and their work. Being able to engage with our community in a more tangible way once it is safe to do so is a key part of the creation process. As long as we remain consistent and authentic we will be able to navigate our new circumstances as the challenges present themselves. We will continue to grow with our community of creators and innovators so that the stories are told whether it is from Haus or home.
